The Kenilworth Historical Society presents a … Kenilworth Black History Month Celebration and Civil War “Living History” Reenactment by a member of the 6th Regiment Infantry U.S. Colored Troops Re-enactors Learn about the experiences and contributions of African-American soldiers during the war. Kenilworth Historical Society Bus Trip Saturday, February 26 to Mohegan Sun. Trip will depart Kenilworth (St. Theresa’s School parking lot) at 8 am and return to Kenilworth at approximately 9 pm. Cost of $49 includes motor coach transportation, an approximate six-hour visit to the casino, which additionally houses a wide range of distinctive shops and popular restaurants; a $10 coupon for free bets; and a coupon for a complimentary buffet or $10 food credit. There will be door prizes on the trip.

Gift certificates are available for the Mohegan Sun bus trip and for other 2011 Kenilworth Historical Society events, as well as for engraved commemorative pavers in the “Kenilworth Heritage Walkway” at the Oswald J. Nitschke House.

Proceeds from all such fundraising activities will benefit the Kenilworth Historical Society’s ongoing project to restore the local 19th- century Nitschke House and transform it into a “living history” museum and cultural arts center.
